Description

A beautiful, fresh tasting Oolong from China. Also known as Tie Guan Yin (Tieguanyin; 铁观音) or Iron Goddess of Mercy. Iron Goddess tea is one of the best known Chinese Oolong teas. Legend has it that a tea grower would walk past an iron statue of Kuan Yin, the Goddess of Mercy, on his way to work everyday. He started to take care of the statue, and then one night in a dream the goddess appeared to him. She told him that he'd find a hidden treasure behind the temple. The next day he searched as she had directed, and he found a single tea shoot. He grew and cultivated this shoot, and named the resultant tea after her.
